The Republic of Texas is an independent nation made up of the former US state of Texas. It is not hostile toward the Federation of New American States, and has an embassy in the FedNAS capitol of Philadelphia. Texas kept the capitol at Austin, and has a few key border checkpoints near former US states, and a small contingent of border patrol units, but otherwise has fairly loose immigration laws.
