Matchbook Messiah

Matchbook Messiah is the first novel to be set in the Rainwall universe. It follows the story of Frank Bruenody and Guy Jericho, who are captured by the Blister Clan for a planned human sacrifice to their god, Albaron. Frank, however, passes their test and is offered to join them. He makes a deal to be let go, but he must bring back 100 other captives within a year or his daughter will be burned alive. He gets them to release Guy as well, and together they set out to gather 100 people. Frank's does this by forming a cult called the Frankists, which he plans to use as an army to rescue his daughter instead of sacrificing them.
