Rainwall RPG is a tabletop role-playing about a group of people trying to find a place in a world torn apart by a vicious plague and possibly a government experiment gone awry. Will you try to restore civilization to its former glory? Will you seize the day in the lawlessness of the barren remnants to do as you please? Will you try to create something new, perhaps something better? The world is yours now, to do with as you please. But whatever your goals, rest assured that there are other survivors with conflicting interests. Enter a harsh world of danger, scarcity, lies and betrayal.

Play the game to build the world your way, or simply try to survive.

The Setting

The game takes place in the harsh environment of a world post-plague. Governments have fallen, some have been given new life. Survivors fight to survive, not only against the environment but against each other. Some cities no longer exist, such as Washington, D.C. Some have been taken over by brutal gangs, and some contain pockets of sanctuary. Everyone fights for influence and resources - power. Will you exert your influence by force and take what you want, or will you choose a more cunning path? The options are limitless.

Everything in the game tries to be grounded in reality, however, there are some supernatural elements (or science fiction, if you prefer) to add a little more flavor to the tale. There are survivors of all types and dispositions, there are wild animals, and there are monsters - human-animal hybrids that are the product of what many believe to be covert government experimentation. This world is yours to explore, to manipulate, to construct or deconstruct. There are many secrets, and many philosophies, cultures, and laws to navigate alongside the barren remains.

Goal

The goal of the game is to explore and experiment. Make your own path. Forge new alliances, influence or join others, and above all - to survive. As you determine your new place in society - the world is your oyster - you may also come to discover that it is more difficult to tell truth from falsehood than you might have realized.
